We decided to take a night out on the town as a family. The girls like to dress up and picked these to wear, so out we went! They look like two little flowers, don't they?
So sweet... you'd think that they love taking pictures after seeing the first two...
But below is my reality. The anguished face. The stiff pose with a scowl. But they're sute even when they do that. : )
We've been to this particular restaurant a few times. The first time was out of desperation to get out of the house when Sam had been out of town for a long time. Both girls were so nervous then. C kept laughing hysterically (a sign of fear for her) or wanting a hug (another sign). FL couldn't and didn't want to do anything but stare into space. She was very overwhelmed, but overall we still had a good time and it was a positive experience. This time? Oh, I think the girls are adjusting well to eating here!
C likes to color! And then she wanted me to take a picture of her with her crayons making this face!!!
How did FL do? See for yourself!
Ok, I think she's having a good time! : )
One thing that helps is that we order the same thing for them every time. It keeps things familiar. Any break in routine is hard for one of my children, so finding something the same helps her and helps tap into her memory that this is something she's done before.
After eating, we went out to Target. I am happy to say that I have two girls that like to shop for almost anything! I also have two girls that are a lot of fun!
I love these two!
With C and FL's help, we spent way more than we should have. It was funny, I would hold up something cute and pink and sparkly and the girls and I would suddenly start pointing and talking and signing at the same time over whatever cute item it was... and there was poor Sam pushing the cart with his three ladies going nuts all the way through Target! He's such a good Papa (even though he put his foot down about the pink, sparkly purse that was over 10 dollars.. ; ))!
It was a fun night and fun to do something together as a family and feel just a little bit "normal." We just enjoyed each other! : )
